With The Election Just A Week Away, MSM Readers And Staff Are Going To War With Outlet Owners Over Decisions Being Made About Refusal To Endorse Kamala Harris
One week left until the presidential election day, and I sit here surrounded by boxes that still need unpacking, but I am happy to be back behind the keyboard for an election-related piece, but the focus is on the manner the media is handling this election in contrast to prior elections and how MSM readers and staff are going to war with outlet owners over decisions being made about coverage.
Not all of the media as many papers are endorsing a presidential candidate, but the Washington Post and LA times, just to name two, have decided to no longer endorse presidential candidates, and a recent op-ed by Washington Post's owner, billionaire Jeff Bezo's tells a story of making the right decision for all the wrong reasons.
On the flip side we have the New York Times, who endorsed Kamala Harris, but has also been exposed as relying on "analysis" by the far-left Media Matters for America.
So where do we start.... the backlash against the news organizations that have put a stop to presidential endorsements.
THE BACKLASH.....
The Hollywood Reporter headlines with "More Editors Exit Los Angeles Times Amid Paper’s Presidential Endorsement Scandal," where the headline itself shows exactly what is wrong with the media, not just their hand-in-hand connection with the Democrats, but that they call the decision not to publicly expose their bias (even though we all know they are biased), a "scandal."
A Semafor report published Tuesday claimed that Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong blocked the paper’s editorial board from endorsing a candidate midway through the board’s preparation to endorse.
“I am resigning because I want to make it clear that I am not okay with us being silent,” Garza said in an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review on Wednesday. “In dangerous times, honest people need to stand up. This is how I’m standing up.” In addition to being the editorials editor, Garza was a member of the paper’s editorial board.
The Washington Post is facing backlash as well as their opinion writers were set to endorse Kamala Harris when Bezo's decided there would be no more presidential endorsements.
The Washington Post has been rocked by a tidal wave of cancellations from digital subscribers and a series of resignations from columnists, as the paper grapples with the fallout of owner Jeff Bezos’s decision to block an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
Apparently these staff members, and subscribers, forgot they are supposed to report the news, not try to influence their readers one way or another, which in fact, the media has been doing for a very long time. The more they tried to interfere in election choices by advocating for the Democrats, rather than just presenting the news, the lower the confidence levels of the public continued to get.
The numbers for "none at all" meaning those surveyed had absolutely no trust in the media, is higher than those that have trust, and higher than those that have not very much trust.
The correlation is unmistakable. The more the media became advocates for the Democrat party, the further left they became, the less trust Americans have in them.

JEFF BEZO'S MISUNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEM....
In response to the backlash at Washington Post, the Owner Jeff Bezo's decided to write an op-ed explaining his decision. This op-ed has angered even more liberals, Democrats and left-wing websites.
Likewise with newspapers. We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement. Most people believe the media is biased. Anyone who doesn’t see this is paying scant attention to reality, and those who fight reality lose. Reality is an undefeated champion. It would be easy to blame others for our long and continuing fall in credibility (and, therefore, decline in impact), but a victim mentality will not help. Complaining is not a strategy. We must work harder to control what we can control to increase our credibility.
His assertion throughout that op-ed, about failing on the second requirement, but not the first, accuracy, shows he has no understanding whatsoever about what is happening in his own newsroom.
They were not "accurate" when the New York Post broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, as their own "fact checker" Glenn Kessler, intimated that the story by the post "could be part of a broader disinformation campaign."
They had other stories about the laptop before it was acknowledged that it was, in fact, Hunter Biden's laptop, but moving along.
The Post, along with almost all other major news groups also spent four years pushing the "Russian Collusion Hoax," citing "anonymous sources constantly, with claims that the Trump campaign of 2016 was coordinating with Russia.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Robert Mueller spent 22 months examining whether Donald Trump’s campaign conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election.
His conclusion? No collusion.
I could go on and on, but the fact is, Bezo's in wrong, the reason Americans do not believe the media to be accurate is because they are not accurate. Period. Stop, do not pass go.
NEW YORK TIMES ADMITS TO USING MEDIA MATTERS FOR ANALYSIS....
Sort-of-conservative pundit Ben Shapiro put out a multi-post thread, which all can be read at Twitchy, but to which he posted a request for comment by a New York Times reporter, where the author of the message admits the NYT depends on the far-left website, Media Matters for America.
Shapiro's second post in that thread provides examples of MMOA's extreme bias against Republicans and right-wing media.
The example in the top left of that image, directly admits from MMOA founder, David Brock, that they go after conservative "misinformation," which to them is anything that runs counter to what liberals believe.
While Brock resigned from MMOA at a later date, their mission of attacking conservative media and information has never changed.
The fact that the NYT 1) Uses Media Matters, and; 2) Has no problem informing others of it, automatically discredits the paper itself, one of the bigger news groups that did endorse Kamala Harris.
BOTTOM LINE.....
With the election just a week away, no matter what the "owners" of some major newspapers do or don't do, the backlash shows clearly that the writers, and the staff itself is corrupt, biased, and no more than activists pretending to be "objective" journalists.
The backlash from subscribers also shows something. Their base of readers only want to see or hear what they are comfortable with, if they are so willing to unsubscribe just because the paper is not allowed to endorse the Democrat candidate.
Here at ANP, we have seen plenty of readers disagree with some content, but they are still here, still reading, and still commenting, because unlike liberal readers, they can handle seeing something they disagree with without taking their toys and going home, so to speak.
